Pocalcitonin(PCT) Rapid Test Cassette, Quantitative Rapid Tests, Test with LF reader
Application:
The PCT Rapid Test Cassette (Whole Blood/ Serum/ Plasma) is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the quantitative detection of Procalcitonin in serum, plasma or whole blood that can be performed with the use of LF Reader.
Description:
Procalcitonin(PCT) is a small protein that comprises 116 amino acid residues with a molecular weight of approximately 13 kDa which was first described by Moullec et al. in 1984.
PCT is produced normally in C-cells of the thyroid glands. In 1993, the elevated level of PCT in patients with a system infection of bacterial origin was reported and PCT is now considered to be the main marker of disorders accompanied by systemic inflammation and sepsis.
The diagnostic value of PCT is important due to the close correlation between PCT concentration and the severity of inflammation. It was shown that “inflammatory” PCT is not produced in C-cells. Cells of neuroendocrine origin are presumably the source of PCT during inflammation.
How to use?
Allow test cassette, serum or plasma specimen, and/or controls to equilibrate to room temperature (15-30℃) prior to testing.
1. Exact QR Code from the QR code card for specific information of the test. Use only QR code card provided inside the test kits.
2. Remove the Test Cassette from the foil pouch and use it as soon as possible. Best results will be obtained if the assay is performed within one hour.
3. Place the Test Cassette on a clean and level surface.
For Serum or Plasma specimens:
Hold the dropper vertically and transfer 1 drop of serum or plasma (approximately 25μL) to the specimen well (S) of the Test Cassette, and add 1 drop of buffer (approximately 40μL), then start the timer. See illustration below.
For Venipuncture Whole Blood specimens:
Hold the dropper vertically and transfer 2 drops of whole blood (approximately 50μL) to the specimen well (S) of the Test Cassette, and add 1 drop of buffer(approximately 40μL), then start the timer. See illustration below.
For Fingerstick Whole Blood specimens:
To use a capillary tube: Fill the capillary tube and transfer approximately 50μL of fingerstick whole blood specimen to the specimen well (S) of the Test Cassette, then add 1 drop of buffer (approximately 40μL) and start the timer. See illustration below.
4. Wait for the colored line(s) to appear. The result should be read with LF Reader at 15 minutes.
5. Do not interpret test results visually.
Note: For LF Reader installation, start up and complete instructions refer to LF Reader User Manual. Operator must consult LF Reader User Manual prior to use and become familiar with the processes and quality control procedure.
Note: It is suggested not to use the buffer beyond 6 months after opening the vial.
INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS
Results read by AllTestTM LF reader
The result for Procalcitonin (PCT) is determined by LF reader.
Result could be exported to excel or PDF.
